Lagaan among 25 all-time best sports films

Lagaan Aamir Khan, who won an Oscar nomination for best foreign film, has for all time top 25 sports movies list compiled by Time magazine.


The 2001 film, set during the British Raj in India, won 14 on the list. Produced by Aamir and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Lagaan tells the group of villagers that strike agreement with the representatives of the Raj - if they win the local game of cricket, they will break their "Lagaan", or property taxes.
